I think overall, all the presentations were excellent. Each of the groups had different chapters, just as each had various disabilities. The first group, which I was in, presented chapters four, eleven, twelve, thirteen, and fourteen. The exhibition of these chapters was incredible; we showed numerous images and videos. After this, we present two disabilities, Cerebral Palsy and Scoliosis. These chapters helped me a lot as I learned how to relate verbally more fluently. Also, in this part, several tips on how to communicate correctly, how to organize a speech, and how to improve communication were discussed. Within these topics, we discuss the importance of keeping the message brief so that it is easier to understand and to keep the audience's attention so that they pay attention to what you are raising. We also show how to develop an introduction, development, and conclusions so that our speech is effective. When we got to the disability part, our group explained what scoliosis and cerebral palsy are. We are talking about the different types of each of these disabilities. We also talk about how these diseases affect humans. For a better understanding, we show images and videos. And on each of the disabilities, we presented an interview, which was TED talks. Both TED talks were somewhat humorous; thus, the message came through clearly, and the audience paid attention to the subject.
Group number two was the next presenting. They talked about chapters fifteen, sixteen, and seventeen. They spoke of the invisible disability; they did a great job exposing. They also talked about diabetes, where they explained what diabetes is and the different types of diabetes that exist. They also talked about the medications used to treat diabetes. They showed numerous videos and photos about the disabilities, to facilitate the understanding of the listeners. Apart from this, they also showed that they are cognitive disabilities and psychological disabilities. This group also used a TED talk as an interview, which I liked a lot as it had very informative content. I think the exhibition was excellent, just a little long, which made the audience pay attention.
The last group, number 3, talked about the different types of vision loss, such as cataract, glaucoma, Diabetic retinopathy, and muscle degeneration. This group explained each of these types of vision loss in greater depth. They also showed us what the causes of these diseases are and how to avoid them. They also showed us different ways to cure these diseases. I learned a lot from this exhibition; I found it fantastic and very instructive. The TED talk they used caught my attention, and I think it had very inspirational content. After this part, this group talked about audio loss. Where they explained the different types, there are, and what part of the ear they affect. They showed us a video about the devices used to amplify sounds and make people with this ability to hear. In another of the videos, they showed us people with hearing loss think, who, in many cases, speak in their minds in a language created by themselves. They also showed images, etc.
Very nice reflection!! I am glad you enjoyed the presentations!
