I believe that everybody did a great job given this was our second powerpoint for the course. We all did the best of our abilities, showcasing our said disability and giving video evidence for it. I love how even our small acts can inspire some of us to do these things to a greater extent in the future. As an economics major, I could definitely put powerpoints into use by putting all of my data into slides and presenting it that way. I liked how we all messaged each other to make sure that we were doing our parts correctly and I enjoyed working with Alex.
When it came to presenting, we were definitely nervous but we tried our best to represent at the best of our abilities. I was nervous when I had started but as I spoke I got the groove and tried to get past it as fast as possible. I believe this class is incredibly important because I need as much public speaking experience as possible to get myself comfortable around others. I’d love to learn all about elevator pitches and public speaking so this was great although I wish this class was in person. People don’t realize how important these classes are until later in their lives when they actually use these skills in the real world.
I enjoyed speaking about cerebral palsy because it was something completely foreign to me before the presentation but after researching and speaking with my group I got a much better understanding of it and I can only thank my group for it as I had been out of the loop until the last day of the presentation. It makes you think that these disabilities are much more common than you’d think and that’s fascinating to me. It makes me grateful to be the way I am, but still appreciative of the people going through this as they must be very brave individuals. All in all, I enjoyed listening to the other groups and their different presenting formats and will definitely keep them in mind when making my next presentation.
Thank you
